Ardbeg Day - The Affair

Happy Ardbeg Day

Almost as exciting as your day of birth, this year June 1 is celebrated internationally as Ardbeg day. The day changes in accordance with the last day of the Islay Festival - the small Scottish Island where this big, peaty whisky comes from.

Ardbeg is a whisky to be reckoned with, winning Best Whisky in the World three years running. Founded in 1815, from a soggy peat bog it certainly has the unique robust flavour characteristic of the Islay Single Malts.

This year the event is called Ardbog in celebration of a newly released limited edition whisky and is themed around archaeology (?!) hence most events having a Big Dig competition. The festivities sound hilarious and we strongly recommend you get involved in your local city.

So dust off your wellingtons and your tweed and raise a dram all Ardbeggians around the world to celebrate the tasty tipple!
